Property History
Once inhabited by the Cherokee Indians, the Collegedale-Ooltewah area is rich in history of the American South, blessed with scenic beauty and proud of its heritage. Situated at the base of White Oak Mountain, this area offers some of the most picturesque sites that can be found in East Tennessee.
The original settlers of James County were upright, honest and industrious citizens, and stamped their traits of good character upon the minds and hearts of their children. The James Monroe family lived on 100 acres of fertile land for over 60 years, raising two children, Jim and Pat. With the same regard for respect of the land, the Monroes have collaborated with Greg Vital and Franklin Farrow, founders of Independent Healthcare Properties, in the development of Greenbriar Cove, ensuring the integrity of the land for years to come.
Philosophy of Greenbriar Cove
The Mighty Oak
The Oak tree was selected as an integral component of the Greenbriar Cove identity because of the characteristics it represents. The Oak tree is so firmly planted and deep rooted that it symbolizes permanency.
